Frequently asked questions

  • What is red light therapy?

Red light therapy works by directing continuous red light onto the skin of skin at wavelengths typically between 630–700 nanometers. At Freedom Wellness Co., our red light face masks use 660nm and 850nm wavelengths.

Benefits include stimulating collagen production, boosting blood circulation to tissue, and reducing inflammation in cells. It's commonly used to help with wound healing, reducing wrinkles and age spots, improving skin texture, and addressing conditions like psoriasis, rosacea, and acne.

  • Is infrared light safe for skin?

Generally yes, with some caveats. Side effects may include temporary skin redness, but unlike ultraviolet light, which can cause skin cancer, red light therapy hasn't demonstrated such risks.

Although it is generally safe when used correctly, infrared light requires following the manufacturer's usage recommendations as excessive exposure could cause tissue damage. People with darker skin tones should be especially cautious, as their skin can be more sensitive.
